A space for everyone, united through STEAM

The HackSpace is a place to create, build and socialise under the commonality of Science and Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics [STEAM].

The HackSpace is a community workshop and co-working environment for anyone that wishes to discover the beauty of creating, making and STEAM.

The HackSpace provides facilities that are often too specialised and inaccessible to those outside of industry. As a member you will have access to:

  • 3D Printers

  • Manual milling machines & Lathes for metal and woodwork

  • Professional Laser cutters

  • A plethora of hand & power tools

  • Electronics workstations - Soldering irons, testing equipment and components

  • Workbenches equipped with vices and clamping equipment

  • Virtual and physical programming environments

  • Sewing machines & textiles

The HackSpace will provide more than just equipment, we will host an array of professionally-led workshops that anyone can attend. If you have a skill you'd like to share, please get in touch, The HackSpace is about open-source learning and is more than happy to host groups that currently have nowhere to meet.

Who is The HackSpace for?

Everybody! There are no entry requirements and no need to have any previous experience, in anything! Simply come and learn, create and discover where the world of STEAM can take you.

There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about.

– Margaret J. Wheatley

The HackSpace is not just a workshop, a co-working environment or a MakerSpace, it is a community hub. Without you guys, bringing your skills, your ambition and enthusiasm, without your knowledge and expertise, The HackSpace is just home to a bunch of (really cool and expensive) tools.

We want to build a community of people, all united in STEAM! creating awesome projects for fun and for function. We engage with various local groups that offer support to marginalised and vulnerable people as well people experiencing financial hardship. We are trying to build something incredible for Peterborough but we can't do that without you.

We want you to feel super welcome and comfortable in The HackSpace and we will do all we can to ensure this. Please don't hesitate with suggestions or grievances, The HackSpace and the community it serves is all about you!

We at The HackSpace also believe that as a community, we should all involve ourselves in building strong bonds and connections with each other. We should help each other and provide support to those that need it, and we should most definitely provide a space that allows people to work and play in the most satisfying, safe and friendly environment.
